After a long process of sending in forms, photos and video evidence, recounting sign up sheets, and getting official letters, we have finally been officially recognized by the 'Keeper of Records' as holders of the
Guinness World Record for most sax players playing a song!! Congratulations, everyone!! We'll have to wait and see if we make the book...how could they NOT use such great pictures. As soon as we find out, we'll let everyone know. In the meantime, we're still working on a DVD of the day which will include lots of photos and video.
Thanks to all the amazing sax players that came out and broke the world record with us!
Together we did it! It was awesome!
Thanks to all of the volunteers, photographers, sound crew, stage management and Dundas Square folks for helping to make this such a great day. We couldn't have done this without the generous support of our sponsors:
JazzFM,
Long and McQuade,
Health Canada,
the City of Toronto and
T.R.U. Special thanks to our publicist
Bobbi Beeson, organizer extraordinaire
Lance Brass, the incredible
Jaymz Bee from JazzFM,
Jon Long from Long and MacQuade,
Grainne who compiled all of the official documents, the folks at
Red Pepper for the awesome suits, banner and hockey jerseys,
Paul Irvine from
Sanderson Taylor who wrote the legal release,
tfcn for their amazing banner and webmaster
Suzanne Johnson.
Please send in your photos of this event. Large files are fine. We will post them on the site. Thanks again to all of the great sax players who came out. Your heart, energy and enthusiasm is inspirational.
